Biography
Pablo Derqui (Barcelona, 1976). Majored in Humanities in 1998, he completed his training graduating as professional actor at the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona (2002). He began his career participating in multiple productions, both on television and in theater, making his debut at the Teatre Lliure of Barcelona and in some Spanish television hits. In cinema, he took his first steps in films such as "Salvador" (2006) by Manuel Huerga or "Barcelona (a map)" (2007) by Ventura Pons. In 2009, rehearsing Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman" he meets "Mario Gas", one of his favorite directors on the stage, and with whom he will achieve several acting awards.
Since then he has worked in several national and international film, theater and television productions, with prestigious directors from the Spanish and Latin America scene, some of which can be seen on Netflix. He also develops a broad facet as a voice actor and advertising announcer.
Of his extensive career, highlights include works in Isabel (2012), Neruda (2016), Julia’s Eyes (2010), Cathedral of the Sea (2018) or If I Hadn't Met You (2018).
Since 2007 he has received multiple recognitions, such as the SGAE Award for best male performance (2009) or the ACE New York Award (2014), among others.
